Top Seeds Advance to Friday's Semifinals

AZUSA, Calif. – The top four seeds advanced to the semifinals of the 2026 NCATA National Championships on Thursday at the Felix Events Center in Azusa, California.
 
Third-seeded Quinnipiac will meet second-seeded Oregon in Friday’s first semifinal at 4:30 PT, followed by top-seeded Baylor taking on fourth-seeded Fairmont State in the 7 p.m. nightcap.
 
Quinnipiac used advantages in the tumbling and team event to pull away for a 258.090-245.805 victory over Iona in Thursday’s 3 vs. 6 quarterfinal meet. The Bobcats scored a 9.90 in the six-element pass to spark the tumbling event, before outscoring Iona 84.140-73.880 in team event.
 
Quinnipiac won four of the six events, including all three events in the second half. Iona was victorious in the acro (28.125-27.950) and pyramid (29.175-29.125) events.
 
Oregon also earned a double-digit win over Gannon, advancing with a 262.510-251.165 win in the second meet of the day. The Ducks won all six events in the meet, but really gained its separation in the second half, winning the toss (28.150-26.300), tumbling (56.000-50.150) and team events (84.010-82.940) in convincing fashion.
 
Oregon recorded four scores of 9.80 or higher, including a 9.90 in five-element acro and a 9.850 in aerial tumbling. Gannon’s top score of the meet was a 9.850 in the open pyramid.
 
In the 4/5 meet, Fairmont State won five of the six events before clinching the win with an 81.800-79.450 advantage in team event. The Falcons put together a consistent meet, scoring a 9.50 or higher in eight heats – including a meet-high 9.825 in the open pyramid.
 
Augustana won the tumbling event, headlined by a 9.775 in the six-element pass.
 
Top-seed Baylor ended the day with the highest meet score (273.385) and team event score (92.86) of the day to advance to the semifinals. The Bears also scored a 10.0 in acro seven-element, a 9.950 in inversion pyramid, and a 9.90 in six-element tumbling.
 
Duquesne, a second-year program, recorded a meet-high 9.775 on the open tumbling pass. In all, the Dukes recorded a 9.500 or higher in eight heats.
