NCATA Announces Week 5 Awards

Division I
Athlete of the Week: Payton Washington, Baylor
Washington, a junior top and tumbler from Round Rock, Texas, competed in nine heats and team event for the Bears last week. She led Baylor to seven scores of 9.50 or higher, including a 10.0 in compulsory toss and a 9.90 in open tumbling.
 
Specialist of the Week: Alia Ellis, Duquesne
Ellis, a junior base from Roseville, Calif., starred in the pyramid event for Duquesne last week. Ellis led the Dukes to three scores of 9.75 or higher in the event, including a meet-high 9.90 in the inversion pyramid.
 
Freshman of the Week: Mo Arthur, Baylor
Arthur, a base from Owensville, Mo., competed in eight heats and team event for Baylor last week. Her performance included two 10.0 scores in the compulsory toss and inversion pyramid heats.
 
Division II
Athlete of the Week: Paytyn Neal, Gannon
Neal, a junior base and mid from Fairmont, West Virginia, competed in nine heats and team event for the Knights last week. Her performance included scores of 9.90 in the compulsory toss and inversion pyramid. She also helped the Knights to a 9.95 in the open pyramid.
 
Specialist of the Week: Alexis Wilkinson, Fairmont State
Wilkinson, a junior base from Bridgeport, West Virginia, was a standout in the pyramid event for Fairmont State this week. In the event, she helped the Falcons to a 10.0 in the open heat and a 9.85 in the inversion heat.
 
Freshman of the Week: Ady Rothermel, Gannon
Rothermel, a base from Wernersville, Pa., competed in seven heats and team event for the Knights this week. Her performance was highlighted by two scores of 9.90 in the compulsory toss and inversion pyramid.
 
Division III
Athlete of the Week: Jenna Hall, UMHB
Hall, a senior top and tumbler from Houston, Texas, competed in 13 heats and team event for UMHB last week. Her performance was highlighted by six scores of 9.50 or higher, including a 9.95 in open pyramid and a 9.85 in both the compulsory toss and acro seven-element.
 
Specialist of the Week: Kasey Hedrick, UMHB
Hedrick, a junior from Arlington, Texas, was a standout in the toss event this week. Her performance in the toss event was headlined by a 9.20 in the open toss heat.
 
Freshman of the Week: Mariah Allen, Buffalo State
Allen, a base and tumbler from Tonawanda, New York, competed in 10 heats and team event for Buffalo State last week. Her performance was highlighted by a 9.05 in the compulsory pyramid and a 9.0 in the open pyramid.
