NCATA Announces Week 2 Award Winners

Division I
Athlete of the Week: Payton Washington (Baylor)
Washington, a junior top and tumbler from Round Rock, Texas, competed in nine heats and team event for Baylor, leading the Bears to seven scores of 9.65 or higher, including a 10.0 in the compulsory toss.
 
Specialist of the Week: Leavy McDonald (Baylor)
McDonald, a sophomore base from San Antonio, Texas, starred in the acro event this week for Baylor. In the Bears’ win over APU, McDonald helped Baylor score a 9.85 in acro six-element and a 9.70 in acro five-element.
 
Freshman of the Week: Mo Arthur (Baylor)
Arthur, from Owenville, Mo., competed in nine heats and team event for Baylor this week, helping the Bears to a 10.0 in compulsory toss and a 9.95 in the inversion pyramid.
 
Division II
Athlete of the Week: Taryn Laurence (Fairmont State)
Laurence, a senior top and tumbler from Euless, Texas, competed in 13 heats and team event for Fairmont State, leading the Falcons to nine scores of 9.50 or higher, including a 9.70 in her solo tumbling pass, the aerial.
 
Specialist of the Week: Carolyn Jackson (Saint Leo)
Jackson, a junior base from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., starred in the pyramid event for Saint Leo this week. As a base in the event, Jackson helped SLU to three scores of 9.85 or higher, including a 10.0 in the open pyramid.
 
Freshman of the Week: Cali Way (Fairmont State)
Way, a base and tumbler from Parkersburg, W.Va., competed in six events and team event for Fairmont State this week. She helped the Falcons to a 9.55 in compulsory toss and 9.50 in synchronized pyramid.
 
Division III
Athlete of the Week: Emma Wilke (Trine)
Wilke, a junior base and tumbler from Mandeville, La., competed in 10 heats and team event for Trine last week. Her meet was highlighted by a 9.50 in synchronized pyramid and a 9.20 in compulsory pyramid.
 
Specialist of the Week: Emily Ruka (Concordia-Wisconsin)
Ruka, a senior top from Racine, Wisc., starred in the pyramid event for CUW this week. As a top in the event, Ruka helped the Falcons to a score of 9.70 in the open pyramid.
 
Freshman of the Week: Kailynne Scare (Trine)
Scare, a base from Bronsin, Mich., competed in eight heats and team event for Trine. Her performance was headlined in the pyramid event with scores of 9.50 (synchronized) and 9.45 (open) in her two heats.
