Chris Thomas has worked with the NCATA since 2017, first as volunteer before assuming the role of Director of Communications in 2018.
Chris is entering his ninth year as a member of the athletics staff at Fairmont State and sixth as Sports Information Director. In his role at Fairmont State, Chris serves as the primary media contact for 16 Division II athletic programs and is responsible for all content on the athletic website (fightingfalcons.com). He also produces and edits all press releases, game programs and publications for the department and serves as game day statistician for all home contests. Chris is also in charge of Fairmont State's social media accounts and content.
Chris is an active member of the Fairmont State Athletics Hall of Fame and All-Sports Reception Committee’s, assisting the FSAA with both fundraising initiatives. He is a member of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), and currently serves on the D2SIDA Atlantic Region men’s basketball poll committee.
Thomas is also the chair of the Mountain East Conference Committee of Sports Information Directors, and is a voting member of the D2Football.com top 25 poll. Thomas also votes on the D2SIDA Men's Basketball regional and national polls.
Thomas graduated from Fairmont State with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration in December 2011 and earned a Master’s of Science in Sport Management from West Virginia University in December 2013.
