Athlete of the Week: Blessyn McMorris, Oregon
McMorris, a senior base from Lynwood, Ill., competed in eight heats and team event for Oregon last week. Oregon scored a 9.60 or higher in each of her heats, including a 9.90 in both the inversion and open pyramid heats, and a 9.85 in the compulsory toss and synchronized pyramid heats.
Specialist of the Week: Destiny McDonald, Limestone
McDonald, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, was a standout in the pyramid event for Limestone this week. She competed as a base in all three pyramid heats, recording a 9.90 in the synchronized heat, a 9.85 in the open heat, and a 9.55 in the inversion heat.
Freshman of the Week: Leavy McDonald, Baylor
McDonald, a base from San Antonio, Texas, competed in four heats and team event for Baylor last week. In each of the four heats, McDonald helped Baylor to two scores of 9.95 (inversion pyramid, open pyramid) and two scores of 9.90 (compulsory pyramid, seven-element acro).

Jordan Gruendler, Baylor: Gruendler, a senior top from San, Antonio, Texas, competed in five heats and team event for Baylor last week. Her performance was headlined by five scores of 9.65 or higher, including a 9.95 in the inversion and open pyramid heats.
Kacie Kier, Limestone: Kier, a senior base and tumbler from Elgin, S.C., competed in 12 heats and team event for Limestone last week. Her performance was headlined by seven scores of 9.50 or higher, including a 9.95 in aerial tumbling and 9.90 in synchronized pyramid.
Specialist of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Izaria McWhorter-Martin, Fairmont State: McWhorter-Martin, from Cincinnati, Ohio, was a standout in the pyramid event for Fairmont State last week. As a mid-base in the open pyramid, Fairmont State scored a 9.85. In the synchronized pyramid, she helped the Falcons to a 9.70 as a base.
Payton Washington, Baylor: Washington, a sophomore from Round Rock, Texas, was a standout in the tumbling event last week. Washington helped Baylor score a 9.40 in the quad tumbling pass, while also turning in a 9.95 in her solo pass, the six-element.
Freshman of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Angelica Martin, Oregon: Martin, a base from Wilmington, Del., competed in six heats and team event for Oregon last week. She helped the Ducks record six scores of 9.65 or higher, including a 9.85 in the compulsory toss and synchronized pyramid heats.
Leilani Morales, Iona: Morales, a base from Wheatley Heights, N.Y., competed in 16 heats during two meets for Iona last week. During the two meets, Morales helped Iona to four scores of 9.50 or higher, including a high of 9.70 in the open pyramid.
