Baylor Tops 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll

Baylor University, winners of nine-consecutive National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) National Championships, has been voted the favorite in the association’s 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll. The poll was released on Friday afternoon following a vote of NCATA head coaches.
 
Baylor received 42 of 47 first-place votes and tallied 699 points during preseason balloting. The Bears are coming off an 11-0 campaign that ended with a 272.220-269.315 victory over Gannon in the 2024 National Championship meet.
 
Quinnipiac University will begin the season at No. 2 in the nation after receiving one first-place vote and 619 points, while national runner-up Gannon was voted third during preseason balloting with 601 points and three first-place votes. Oregon (592, one first-place vote) and Mary Hardin-Baylor (433) rounded out the top five.
 
Fairmont State (415) checked-in at No. 6 in the preseason poll, followed by Azusa Pacific (400) and Iona (366) in seventh and eighth place, respectively. Frostburg State (312) and Limestone (247) rounded out the top 10.
 
The final five teams in the rankings featured Augustana (S.D.) (220) at No. 11, followed by Hawai’i Pacific (186), Saint Leo (111), Long Island (N.Y.) (104) and first-year program Duquesne (84).
 
The 2025 NCATA regular season gets underway on Sunday, Feb. 2 with two meets. Morgan State University travels to Quinnipiac for a 1 p.m. (ET) meet, while Wheeling hosts West Liberty at 4 p.m. (ET) in Mountain East Conference competition. A full slate of meets will continue next week, beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
