NCATA Announces Week 7 Award Winners

NCATA Athlete of the Week: Cami Wilson (Oregon)
 
Wilson, a senior base from Los Angeles, Calif., competed in 10 heats and team event for the Ducks this week. Her performance was highlighted by nine scores of 9.60 or higher, including a perfect 10.0 in the open pyramid and a 9.95 in the compulsory toss.
 
 
NCATA Specialist of the Week: Makena Carrion (Oregon)
 
Carrion, a senior from Rossmoor, Calif., was a standout in the pyramid event for Oregon last week. Competing as a top, Carrion helped the Ducks record a perfect 10.0 in the open pyramid, while also adding a score of 9.80 in the synchronized pyramid.
 
 
NCATA Freshman of the Week: Bella Swarthout (Oregon)
 
Swarthout, a base from Paso Robles, Calif., completed in four heats and team event for the Ducks last week. Each of her heats scored a 9.70 or higher, including a 10.0 in the open pyramid. She also competed in team event, helping the Ducks to a score of 94.14.
 
 
NCATA Athlete of the Week (Honorable Mention)
 
Riley Chimwala (Baylor): Chimwala, a senior base from Plano, Texas, competed in 10 heats and team event for the Bears last week. Her performance was highlighted by six scores of 9.60 or higher, including a 9.95 in inversion pyramid and a 9.90 in compulsory toss.
 
Lyndsey Rudolph (Quinnipiac): Rudolph, a senior top from Egg Harbor Township, N.J., competed in seven heats and team event for Quinnipiac last week. Her performance was highlighted by a 9.80 in compulsory toss and a 9.75 in acro seven-element.
 
NCATA Specialist of the Week (Honorable Mention)
 
Amanda Schnelker (Limestone): Schnelker, a junior from Valrico, Fla., competed as a top in the pyramid event for Limestone this week. Her performance was highlighted by a perfect-10 in the open pyramid heat.
 
Payten Semenske (Glenville State): Semenske, a junior from Statesville, N.C., was a standout base in the pyramid event this week, helping the Pioneers to a 9.90 in both the synchronized and open heats.
 
NCATA Freshman of the Week (Honorable Mention)
 
Brookelyn McCaffrey (Lander): McCaffrey, a base from Sacramento, Calif., competed in five heats and team event for Lander last week. Her performance was highlighted by a 9.80 in inversion pyramid and a 9.65 in seven-element acro.
 
Payton Washington (Baylor): Washington, a top and tumbler from Round Rock, Texas, competed in seven heats and team event for the Bears this week. Her performance was highlighted by a 9.975 in the aerial tumbling pass, and a 9.90 in the compulsory toss.
