NCATA Athlete of the Week: Genesis Carson (Limestone)
Carson, a sophomore top and tumbler from Newport News, Va., earned the first NCATA Athlete of the Week honor of the 2023 season after leading sixth-ranked Limestone to a win over No. 2 Gannon over the weekend. Carson competed in 10 heats and team event for Saints, scoring a 9.50 or higher in four of the heats. Her performance was headlined by a 9.80 in the open pyramid and a 9.75 in the synch pyramid. She also helped Limestone to a 9.55 in the seven-element acro, a 9.50 in the compulsory pyramid and she scored a 9.375 (out of 9.60) in the aerial tumbling pass.
NCATA Specialist of the Week: Riley Chimwala (Baylor)
Chimwala, a junior from Plano, Texas, was a standout in the acro event for Baylor this week, leading the Bears to a 9.85 in the five-element acro and a 9.35 in the six-element acro. She serves as a solo base in both acro heats and is the only base in the country to compete the single base toss to extended position. She also competes the low to high single base 180-degree twist as a base.
NCATA Freshman of the Week: Kacie Kier (Limestone)
Kier, a base and tumbler from Elgin, S.C., competed in eight heats and team event during her debut for Limestone last week. Her performance was highlighted by a 9.80 in the open pyramid, a 9.75 in the synch pyramid and a 9.575 in the open tumbling pass.
Honorable Mention (Athlete of the Week):
Bayley Humphrey (Baylor): Humphrey, a junior base from Chandler, Ariz., competed in nine heats and team event for the Bears, which included a perfect 10.0 in the inversion pyramid and a 9.95 in the compulsory toss.
Karly Nowak (Oregon): Nowak, a senior top, base and tumbler from Howell, N.J., competed in seven heats and team event for the Ducks, scoring a 9.80 in the compulsory pyramid and a 9.75 in the aerial tumbling pass.
Honorable Mention (Specialist of the Week):
Cameron King (Limestone): King, a sophomore from Peletier, N.C., competed in all three pyramid heats for Limestone last week, scoring a 9.70 or higher in each heat. Her performance was headlined by a 9.80 in the open pyramid heat.
Blessyn McMorris (Oregon): McMorris, a sophomore base from Lynwood, Ill., competed as a base and back base for Oregon last week, scoring 9.70 or higher in each of the three heats. She helped Oregon to scores of 9.90 in both the inversion and open pyramid heats.

Gianna Cameron (Baylor): Cameron, a base and tumbler from South Charleston, Ohio, competed in five heats and team event for the Bears last week, helped Baylor score a 9.80 in the compulsory pyramid and a 9.55 in the open toss.
Peyton Oliver (Gannon): Oliver, a base and tumbler from Vallejo, Calif., competed in seven heats and team event for Gannon last week, helping the Knights to four scores of 9.60 or higher (including a meet-high 9.80 in the synchronized toss.
