Azusa Pacific University senior Ashleigh Pitts was named the NCATA Player of the Week on Wednesday, joining Quinnipiac sophomore Melanie Mancini (Specialist of the Week) and Gannon freshman Kristen Godshall (Freshman of the Week).
NCATA Player of the Week
Ashleigh Pitts – Azusa Pacific University
Senior, Top/Base, San Luis Obispo, Calif. (San Luis Obispo)
Pitts posted the team's second-highest individual tumbling score and was on the top-two scoring group heats with a 9.80 in compulsory toss and a 9.75 in open pyramid to help Azusa Pacific rally from 3.5 points down in its 271.720-267.410 win over Hawaii Pacific. Pitts logged a 9.775 in her solo aerial pass to spark the Cougar rally before Azusa Pacific posted a 97.47 point team event for the come-from-behind win over Hawaii Pacific.
NCATA Specialist of the Week
Melanie Mancini – Quinnipiac University
Sophomore, Top, Waterbury, Conn. (Holy Cross)
Mancini helped lead the Bobcats to five heat victories, averaging a 9.71 per heat. The sophomore kicked off the Bobcats' 284.010-254.635 victory over King with a 9.80 in seven-element acro, adding a pair of 9.70 scores in synchronized pyramid and toss before a 9.80 in open toss and a 9.55 in duo tumbling.
NCATA Freshman of the Week
Kristen Godshall – Gannon University
Freshman, Back, Rochester, N.Y. (Churchville-Chili)
Godshall aided the Lady Knights in scoring five heats against Converse that scored above a 9.00. The top performance was a 9.80 in the Compulsory toss. Gannon secured a 269.425-264.170, remaining unbeaten while improving to 3-0 for the first time in program history.
Player of the Week Honorable Mention
Haley Cochran – Fairmont State University
Senior, Base, Monongah, W. Va. (North Marion)
Cochran helped Fairmont State improve to 2-0 on the season with a 266.26-262.25 victory over Alderson Broaddus last Wednesday The senior joined the Falcons in a pair of perfect scores in the compulsory toss and five-element acro while also helping Fairmont State score a 9.80 in the compulsory pyramid, a 9.95 in inversion pyramid and a 9.80 in open pyramid.
Abby Ziser – Quinnipiac University
Senior, Top, Pompton Plains, N.J. (Pequannock Township)
Ziser logged three heat scores above 9.75 to help lead the Bobcats to a 284.010-254.635 win over King. The senior assisted on a 9.80 in the six-element acro, a 9.75 in 450 salto toss and a 9.90 in compulsory pyramid, helping the Bobcats capture all seven meets that she participated in.
Specialist Honorable Mention
Rachel Shier – Azusa Pacific University
Senior, Top, Mission Viejo, Calif. (Saddleback Valley Christian)
Shier contributed to Azusa Pacific's highest coring heats of the acro, pyramid and toss events, including a 9.60 in five-element acro, a 9.75 in open pyramid and a 9.45 in open toss. The senior added an 8.700 in the quad pass, which was the Cougars' highest-scoring group tumbling heat in a 271.720-267.410 win over Hawaii Pacific.
Amber Sinquefield – Converse College
Freshman, Base, Gainesville, Ga. (Chestatee)
Amber captured wins in two events against the Knights, taking the five-element acro alongside victories in 450 salto and open toss. Sinquefield was also able to tie the Golden Knights in three other events, including inversion and synchronized pyramid along with synchronized the toss. Sinquefield kicked off the meet with a 9.55 in the five-element acro, helping the Valkyries win the event.

Breana Clarke – Converse College
Freshman, Top/Tumbler, Glen Allen Va. (Hermitage)
Clarke participated in 11 heats for the Valkyries, joining Converse on a 9.65 synchronized pyramid, a 9.5 open toss and a 9.475 quad pass. In compulsory, the freshman competed in a 9.65 pyramid and a 9.80 toss heat.
Nicole Johnson – West Virginia Wesleyan College
Freshman, Top/Tumbler, Lubbock, Texas (Frenship)
Johnson aided the Bobcats' 244.720-216.140 win over Adrian with a 9.60 in five-element acro, a 9.40 in compulsory toss and a 9.60 in inversion pyramid. Johnson capped the meet with a 8.75 in her solo aerial pass, adding an 8.50 in duo tumbling.
