DANBURY, Conn. – Following the conclusion of its inaugural season, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Acrobatics & Tumbling League has announced its major awards and all-conference selections.
Alanna Kelley of Alderson Broaddus University was voted the Player of the Year by the league's head coaches, while Quinnipiac University's Melanie Mancini was named the Rookie of the Year. Quinnipiac Head Coach Mary Ann Powers and Gannon University's Chevonne White shared the honor for Coach of the Year.
A total of 18 student-athletes from the league's four schools earned All-ECAC distinction. Alderson Broaddus saw six receive league honors, while QU and King University each had five honorees. Gannon placed two student-athletes on the ECAC Acrobatics & Tumbling League All-Conference squad.

Kelley earns Player of the Year honors after helping the Battlers qualify for the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA) National Championships this year. The junior base helped ABU qualify for multiple event finals during nationals, including the duo pyramid and 5-element and 7-element Acro event finals. Kelley was named ECAC Player of the Week on one occasion and also earned NCATA weekly honorable mention during the 2017 season.

Mancini played an active role in helping Quinnipiac reach the 2017 NCATA semifinals. The first-year top recorded numerous impressive marks over her three ECAC meets, averaging 9.867 in the Compulsory Toss, 9.733 in the Acro 5-element heat and 9.783 in the Open Toss event.

Powers earns a share of the Coach of the Year honor after leading Quinnipiac to the NCATA semifinals and an ECAC league championship in 2017. Under her guidance, the Bobcats compiled a perfect 3-0 mark in ECAC meets to go along with a 6-3 overall record.

Gannon's White received the Co-Coach of the Year award after leading the Lady Knights to the NCATA Championships for the third time in four years. White's squad also qualified for five Individual Event Finals at the NCATA National Championships, highlighted by a bronze-medal showing in the Trio Pass.
