Falcons seeded third show their strength

VANCOUVER, WA Fairmont State’s acrobatics and tumbling team has continued to get better with each competition throughout the 2011-12 season. The Falcons opened the season with a total team score of 279.505 in Fairmont in its first outing of the season, and posted its high score of 288.375 in its next-to-last dual against Oregon.
That total currently ranks only behind Maryland and Oregon as high total scores for the year. With FSU’s continued improvement throughout the season, the Falcons were able to secure the third seed at the NCATA Championships.
The Falcons have been a strong first half team averaging 97.25 in the first three events this season. FSU has posted among the highest scores by any team this season in the acro event. Fairmont State will need to perform strong in the tumbling event in order to advance deep in the NCATA Championships.
The Falcons did not score more than 57 points in that event at a competition this season. In the latter part of the season, Fairmont State has consistently scored over 104 points in the final team routine. FSU’s score of 105.60 is the fifth-highest score by any NCATA team in any competition this season.
