Training

NCATA JUDGES TRAINING

Each official must complete eight (8) hours minimum for Training 1-4 and four (4) hours for Training 5.  Trainings 1 and 5 must be done in order, however all other training periods may be completed out of order.  This initial training is part of the CPE requirements as set forth.

 

Training 1

Overview of the sport, Policies, Meet format, Roles of the Officials, Head Official, Execution Official, Value Official, Attire and Etiquette, Meet Overview Training, Compulsory, Skill Elements, Team Routine, Definitions & Overview Test

 

Training 2 and Training 3 (same)

Acro Event, Execution evaluation, Deduction execution, Scoring practice, Video evaluation & practice, Pyramid Event, Execution evaluation, Deduction execution, Scoring practice, Video evaluation & practice, Written and Video Test

 

Training 4

Team Event, Execution evaluation, Deduction execution, Scoring practice, Video evaluation & practice, Irregularities Training, Injuries, Technical difficulties

 

Training 5 – Specialization (additional 1.5 hours each)

Safety & Deductions, Rules interpretation, Glossary explanation, Mandatory deduction values and assessment, Written test, Value Official, Score calculation and computer program, Difficulty Value Training, Discrepancy policies and procedures, Video test, Head Official, Must attend both of the above, Roster and required forms, Reporting and evaluating officials, Written test
